Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood member Dr. Djamel Hichmat to Echorouk: “Our leaders do not leave Tahrir Squareâ€
Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood member, Dr. Mohamed Djamel Hichmat, said the movement did not agreed with the Egyptian authorities to withdraw its leaders from Tahrir Square.
The spokesman told Echorouk in a phone interview that satisfaction of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement for the ongoing dialogue with the Egyptian authorities for the first time in a half century, is related to their achievement to what we agree upon these days.
Echorouk: Why do you want to go on for dialogue while Tahrir youth refuse it before the departure of President Hosni Mubarak?
MDH: At the beginning there were eight people who came to the Tahrir Square, and thus the problematic of the absence of leadership among youth was an opportunity to dilute things.
Echorouk: There is a talk about an agreement between your movement and the Egyptian authorities on some procedures, including withdrawal of your leaders from Tahrir Square. Is it true?
MDH: It is false, and any talk by liars is unacceptable and has a kind of extortion, as such accusations were discussed in our press conference, and reality also proves this.
Echorouk: There were different positions by some people who spoke on behalf of the Muslim Brothers. What is their real and final position of dialogue?
MDH: We have submitted requests for approval of the revolution results, including freedom of abolition of the recent practices against media, and the trial of those who caused chaos. We also demanded the review of the state of emergency, and the amendment of constitution and presidential elections.
Echorouk: It means that you are satisfied for the results of dialogue with the Egyptian authorities.
MDH: This is related to their accomplishment, if there are real achievements dialogue is more acceptable and its results are good, because dialogue from one side without implementation of demands is not feasible.
